Fenton & more Fenton!
8:27 AM PST, 2/15/2009
Hi to all you fenton lovers out there who make it to my store! I have been slowly narrowing what I sell to only fenton. I love their glass as it as diverse as we are! If there is something special you would like let me know as I am selling for you! I am not very good yet a this "blog" thing so not sure what all to put into it. I have noticed that some people are having a bit of hard time telling fenton items when the sellers do not take a picture of the bottom or say only "marked" or "F" on bottom. Well my friends that just isnt good enough anymore! We deserve to know what the mark is without having to go to all the trouble of asking! I have done some research for you and this is what I have found in regards to IDing fenton or telling if it is a fake and when it was made. The following is a bit of writing from another one of my bibles on fenton: But take heart - marked Fenton glass is easy to identify. Since Fenton reissues some of its pieces, in the 1960s they began adding marks to help collectors identify the production decade. This is a partial list; more complete listings can be found in Fenton guide books: 1960s to 1970s: Fenton inside oval; 1980s: addition of 8; 1990s: addition of 9;, 2000: addition of 0; Anniversary collections: additional mark of 75th, 80th, or 90th. In addition, if Fenton purchased a mold from another company, an upright script F inside an oval is used to distinguish the piece. Seconds are marked with a sandblasted capital F or star, or a hand-scribed F. Some Fenton seconds may lean or have air bubbles, but others have now flaws - the piece simply may not have the right color or shape, or the hand-painted design may be missing or different from the example in the catalog. These flawless pieces may actually be more desirable because only a few exist I hope that my research will help you to make an informed buying experinece! There is nothing worse than to get a piece home that you thought was fenton only to find out it was a fake! Or get it off ebay and realize the "F" you thought was a script one instead turn out to be sandblasted and a second! So be aware, be careful, and have fun! I hope you will take a look at my items and place a bid! Or simply ask me a question as I never mind taling about fenton! -

Vintage Fenton Hobnail Pattern Hi and welcome to my blog! I thought I would let you in on easy way to tell if the piece of glass you are looking at is really Fenton Hobnail. All pre 1970 glass is unmarked by Fenton so how do you tell? It is easier than most think! Fenton was a quality glass company and the quality shows in their work. The Fenton Company when they made their Hobnail Pattern-any color-made their's slightly different than the other companies(ex:Cambridge or Anchor Hocking's Moonstone). The actual hobnails are more pointed than the "Moonstone". The "Moonstone" points are softly rounded-Fenton's are pointed and sharp.Easy lesson for when you are at an auction and see a piece of glass and think about bidding. Even if the auction house describes it as Fenton, Anchor Hocking or Cambridge-you will be the wiser buyer and know the difference. So shop with confidence in the market of glass-for you now know the simple rule to tell Fenton French Opalescent from others! -

Hi, I have never blogged before so please bear with me! I guess what I need write about is what I sell in my store. I am the last of the line to live on the families farm(5 generations). I have been selling on ebay for about 8 months. I don't really specialize in any one thing. I really enjoy glass-Crystal, Cut, EAPG, and Depression. My favorite's are Fenton! I love the old 1920's-50's. I specialize that even more into Fenton Vanity glass. Perfumes, Puff boxes, ect. The more rare the better. The Charleton Line is my favorite and I sell off other Pieces to buy the even more Rare. I have close to 200 in my personal collection. I am always on the look out at auctions, estate sales, flea markets, and garage sales. I have traveled up to 400 miles to get to High End Fenton Sales. What I sell is good quality vintage pieces. I occasionally buy modern pieces to sell in my store. Along with my love of Fenton is my love for Crystal-which I enjoy buying and selling. I am an honest person and my Seller's/Buyer's feedback is a testament to that. I have a 100% satisfaction. I always back all my items-even if it means taking a loss. I also sell my families treasures as I go through them. Large assortment of things from Vintage Pictures to Hand crocheted doilies and lace. Some things are odd items but I think it adds a bit of color to my store! One never knows what I might try and sell! I have enjoyed the ebay experience so much that I have partially retired from being a Nurse to sell full time! I am always willing to take positive criticism. I love to learn and I don't mind one bit to have a fellow ebayer correct me when I am wrong. If someone is wanting a special item that I might have carried, or sold some off, and would like to have more-just ask and I will see if I have more of the item or will be willing to hunt one down for you!I hope what I have wrote is what is supposed to be in a "blog" but I have had fun writing it! If someone wants to email me to talk of my passion(glass) then feel free as I love to chat. Thanks for reading my story and check back as I will be updating the info weekly.
